The New Berlin Recreation Trail is Barney’s “Home” trail. He rides it about 100 times per year. The trail is a paved rail to trail path that runs from Waukesha to West Allis Wisconsin along an old interurban rail right of way.
The trail is largely level, altho it does have a 1 mile hill at it’s east end. It passes next to 2 New Berlin parks that have facilities to use. The eastern end is more suburban and the western end is more rural. Due to it being next to electric lines the path is not shaded, although there is shade to rest under in the parks.
